In the ad on the right, they are playing on a different side of women’s health/beauty. It gives off the impression that if you want to look like Katy Perry (skinny, pretty, “healthy”), you should eat Popchips. Since the media is constantly telling women how they should look, this ad enforces that love handles are not acceptable for women with the slogan “love. Even though eating Popchips is not equivalent to lifting weights, the company wants you to think eating these will make you as healthy as you would be if you lifted weights. They put a healthy spin on the first slogan saying “I curl Popchips straight to my lips”, referencing lifting weights, but instead you’re ingesting chips. The media typically likes to focus on how women see themselves in terms of beauty. With her being the face of this product, it is geared more towards women.
